Shiven Uppal is a Grade-10 student at the Sanskriti School where he studies Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, German, Political Science & History, Economics & Geography, and Information Technology. His love for exploring novel developments in data science and assistive technology led him to the creation of the Roshni Initiative, through which he hopes to create a positive impact on the visually impaired community in India.
As a passionate student of the intersections of science, math, and all that the wonders of STEM have to offer, Shiven has previously developed a voice-activated digital assistant as part of the CleverEd AI and ML program and has also secured prizes in notable competitions such as the American Math Olympiad and the PIMSO Science Olympiad. Moreover, he has also enhanced his skills by participating in prestigious programs like the New York Academy of Sciences, Stanford’s Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes, and the Awesome Math program in mathematical learning.
As an active member of his school community, Shiven divides his time as a member of several school clubs like the Math and Physics Club, presenting on topics of global interest at national MUN conferences, and fulfilling his duties as a class representative for five consecutive years.
